Pittsburgh: ‘Who’s Healthy?’

The Penguin-Islander game was pretty crazy. So much happened.
First, Mario Lemieux broke the Islander’s penalty kill streak (sort of embarassing since the Times just gave the Isles PK a really nice write-up). Then Lemieux had to leave the game with a groin pull (no word on when he’ll be back).
Pittsburgh has been getting slaughtered with injuries all season. Marty Straka is always hurt. Jan Hrdina and Dick Tarnstrom were both hurt in last week’s game against the Isles. And goalie Johan Hedberg is day-to-day with a shoulder injury.
So it was a big game, but ultimately, absolutely no good came of it for Pittsburgh. They lost 6-3. And if Lemieux is badly hurt, they just lost the season. Although even with Lemieux, they’re not so hot.
