Salute to Trainers

It was a bittersweet week for the unsung heroes of the hockey world — the men who work in the dressing room.
Long-time Edmonton dressing-room attendant Joey Moss found out he’s getting the NHL Alumni Association’s Seventh Man Award. Really nice news.
But former Red Wing dressing room assistant died yesterday. He retired in September 2001 after over 60 years with Detroit. Very sad news.
UPDATE: New York Ranger and Islander trainer Nick Garen died earlier this month. He was 82. He is the only person to serve as a trainer for both New York NHL teams.
