The Penguins fired coach Rick Kehoe. I would have loved to be in on that meeting:
- “Rick. We’re really sorry we have to let you go. We’re just looking for a coach who can win with minor league players and a coach who can win games as we trade away all of our good players for cash. Also, we’re looking for a coach who can drive the team bus and the Zamboni. And also we need a coach who can sharpen skates. And perhaps, maybe, a coach who can play goal.”
Was Kehoe a good coach? I have no idea. But could anyone be a successful coach in Pittsburgh?
