Pittsburgh: Cheaper Tickets and a New Coach (Some Day)

The hockey world is very quiet what with everyone clinching. In fact, I think the big hockey news was that I threw on my Charlestown Chiefs t-shirt and bought a used copy of Hanson’s MIDDLE OF NOWHERE.
Man, those kids can sing. Too bad they’re the wrong Hanson brothers.
Oh. And on the heels of yesterday’s startling revelation that the good people of Pittsburgh are kind of sick of their sports teams, the Penguins announced they’re lowering ticket prices for next season.
Pittsburgh is also still looking for a coach, even though the team they’ll put on the ice next season will be so bush league, that it seems a bit of a waste. Former Ranger coach Bryan Trottier is said to be interested. Trottier has shown he can lose with high-priced, highly-skilled talent. Now he’s ready to show the NHL he can lose with low-priced, low-skilled talent. TV analyst Ed Olczyk, radio man Bob Errey, and Hershey’s Mike Foligno are among the 40 people said to be interested in coaching the Penguins. Brave men, every last one of them.
In other coaching news, Toronto said they’re not talking to Edmonton’s Craig MacTavish about coaching.
