Coaching legend Roger Neilson died Saturday. He was 69.
There are just a ton of nice tributes out there. The man loved hockey so much. He made for great stories. Like his love of bending the rules to his will.
And it’s a real testament to his personality that even Florida Panther coach Mike Keenan was touched by Neilson.
Most amazing of all, Neilson was able to remain friends with Flyers GM Bobby Clarke after Clarke wouldn’t let Neilson return as coach after his chemotherapy.
It was one of hockey’s most classless moves and Neilson saw past it.
Pretty freaking cool.
