We found Vaclav Prospal, who left Tampa Bay this week with no destination named.
He’s a Duck.
Prospal is a pretty smooth move for Anaheim. He’s an offensive force, but not too much of one. Paul Kariya was almost too offensive. He didn’t fit into the system. Prospal will be a much better fit — able to lead the attack, but also able to tow the system line, or manage the puck, as they like to say nowadays.
The Ducks also tried to grab Sergei Fedorov, who seems pretty determined not to sign anywhere.
Fedorov would have been too offensively aggressive. Too creative. Too much money.
