Dallas picked up reliable defenseman Teppo Numminen in a three-team trade between Columbus and Phoenix.
In addition to picking up a great defenseman (so that’s why Phoenix was defenseman shoppping…) Dallas clears a little salary room, unloading Darryl Sydor’s five-year, $15.8 million contract on Columbus.
Nice pick-up for Dallas, but usually the kind of trade you see during the March trade deadline.
Grit is now officially at a premium.
