CuJo Gets a Bone (Chip)
Call me crazy, but does anyone else think Curtis Joseph is messing with Detroit by getting his ankle operated on now?
I mean, had anyone else heard anything about a bone chip on his ankle?
The timing sucks for the Red Wings. They’re trying to find someone to take Joseph and his big-ass contract off their hands. It doesn’t even seem like they want anything in return anymore.
It’s sort of funny. While I’m not a huge CuJo fan, he’s definitely a sound goaltender. He’s in the top half of the goalie class. And yet no one will touch this guy. Even though a lot of teams could use some stable goaltending.
If you ask me, this whole thing is a giant market correction. The huge-contract bubble is bursting.
And Detroit is learning a team can have too many good goaltenders.
