So Ottawa and Pittsburgh and Buffalo all worked through their economic problems. All is well in the NHL, right?
Maybe. But New Jersey has a situation.
The Devils owe former owner John McMullen $48 million. By midnight today.
The New York Post says McMullen wants his money now, but the Devils might be trying to defer payment until they sell the team.
I wonder if the Devils are going to end up leaving New Jersey. There are all sorts of rumors floating around that have the Nets, the Devils’ b-ball playing corporate siblings, moving out to Long Island or Brooklyn. Where will the Devils go?
I’m officially voting for Astoria, Queens.
