Turco Wants Giguere Money

Will Dallas goalie Marty Turco make it to camp?
Good question.
He turned down three years at $12 million, though. He supposedly wants closer to $4.5 million a year, which is around what Anaheim gave their goalie, Jean-Sebastien Giguere.
If Turco misses camp, or the start of the season, the Stars will have to go with backup Ron Tugnutt, who was wildly inconsistent when he filled in for the injured Turco last season.
But you can see how Dallas is a bit nervous about giving a long, expensive contract to a goalie who is still basically unproven. Turco has had two pretty good seasons. But those really could be flukes. You see it all the time. The NHL is littered with goalies who really only had a few good seasons in them. Calgary is littered with such a goalie, as a matter of fact.
