Klee Signed

I had no idea. Defenseman Ken Klee was getting offers from around the NHL, including a long-term contract offer from the Thrashers, and of course, the Rangers. But Klee wanted to be a Leaf, so he decided to wait it out.
It paid off. The Leafs were able to sign and steal Klee for one year at $1.5 million. A real bargain. Even with bonuses, he won’t make more than $1.8 million.
Klee will be great for Toronto’s young defense, teaching them discipline by example. I’m just shocked he wouldn’t want to jump to a more competitive team. But I guess after spending all those years with the Capitals, you learn to live without winning…
