Detroit Waives Bye to Cujo

To no one’s surprise, the Wings put Curtis Joseph on waivers.
I’d be very shocked if anyone took him.
First the Wings tried to trade him, and no one wanted his giant contract.
Now the Wings are trying to give him away. Teams will still be scared by his giant contract.
The Wings will probably have to agree to eat some of his $8 million/year before any team will bite. With the Rangers and Toronto set in goal, there just isn’t a market for overpriced talent.
Cujo just really, really wants to get the hell out of Dodge.
Joseph has always seemed a bit mentally fragile. I can’t even begin to imagine what this whole degrading mess has done to his psyche.
Also, Cujo and Dominik Hasek finally met each other, face-to-face, old goalie meeting new goalie.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the meeting lasted three minutes. That’s a good two minutes, 45 seconds too long for my blood.
