Stars and Ice Forever
Ahhhh. The start of another NHL season. And you know what that means more inane ways to try and sell the NHL to people.
This season it’s commercials featuring “A-list” celebrities like Jim Belushi and Shania Twain.
OK. First of all, I don’t think Jim Belushi was ever A-list. No offense to him and his fine body of work, but he’s probably best known for being John’s brother. I mean, they didn’t even pick him to take his brother’s place in that horrible BLUES BROTHERS sequel.
And does the NHL really think there are people out there who don’t know about hockey, but would watch a sport based on celebrity endorsements? Why not just show clips of great shots and hits? Isn’t that what makes more sense? Showing people the actual product?
Whatever. Like I haven’t just spent the last three days trying to get Fred “Rerun” Berry to endorse PuckUpdate.
