Flyers Grab Zhamnov

So apparently there isn’t any kind of NHL deal that doesn’t go through Philadelphia.
They’ve made some big grabs in the past few weeks. Danny Markov. Mike Comrie. Sean Burke. And now Alexei Zhamnov.
Sadly for the Flyers, Zhamnov doesn’t really make them stronger. At best, he brings them back to where they were before Jeremy Roenick and Keith Primeau left the lineup due to injuries.
The Flyers are all about injuries this season. They can hardly sign players fast enough to replace the wounded. Philadelphia needs Zhamnov to get with the program pretty quickly. With last night’s loss to Boston, they’ve lost three in a row.
The Flyers sent defenseman Jim Vandermeer, center Colin Fraser, and two draft picks to the Blackhawks for Zhamnov. At this rate, Chicago will have a genuine NHL defense in just two more seasons.
