The best part of Calgary’s 3-1 win over the Flames last night?
Calgary coach Darryl Sutter, the former Shark coach, waiting to shake hands with every San Jose player before they left the ice (l:email@example.com; p:painful).
This wasn’t a great year for hockey. Dany Heatley killed a teammate. Todd Bertuzzi brutally attacked an opponent. Everyone keeps talking about a possible lockout next season. But for a few minutes in Calgary, on the night a head coach found himself making his first trip to the Stanley Cup Finals, his first thought was only to pay his respect to his former players.
It was the perfect ending to an exciting game.
