Wow. Pat Quinn is admitting the Leafs are freaking old.
Well, he didn’t really admit it. But he justified the signings, telling the Toronto Star “Age is a factor when a player isn’t able to contribute any more, but these three players [Ed Belfour, Joe Nieuwendyk, and Gary Roberts] were a major part of our team last year.”
Yeah. Bill Barilko was also a major part of the Leafs once. Why not sign him?
In Quinn’s world, you have to hold onto players until they have an awful season. Run players until the implode. Don’t upgrade. Wait for everything to cave in.
Seriously. I know I’m not Candadian, but why can’t I coach Team Canada?
