Dave Molinari at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has an internationally flavored Sunday column. The thing I love about it, though, is that he doesn’t talk about contracts or lockouts or anything. Instead, he talks about the lack of European players in the NHL’s Hall of Fame. Molinari also reveals that Alexander Ovechkin, this year’s number one draft pick, already speaks English. So he’s all set to play. He just needs a contract. Although, in a bizarre way, his lack of a contract makes him the NHL’s version of the ideal player. Lots of buzz, but you don’t have to pay him.
