Wow. So as the NHL extends the lockout into December, players are getting a little antsy. Some are even signing on to play in the CHL. Good guys, too. Guys like Brenden Morrow from the Stars and Brad Lukowich from Tampa. These are quality players. Morrow had 25 goals last season. You can bet that’ll translate to around 50 in the CHL.
The CHL allows teams to carry one NHL player, which makes it kind of like the WHA. You know. Except they actually play in the CHL.
Of course, not every CHL team is going after NHLers. And some people, like Roy Lang III of the Shreveport Times say that’s a good thing. Lang seems proud his Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs are ignoring NHLers and trying to sign young talent.
Hmmmm. A sports team taking a long view? What’s up with that?
They’re obviously not ready for the NHL in Louisiana.
