No hockey? Don’t worry. The Times has a review of Wayne Coffey’s “The Boys of Winter: The Untold Story of a Coach, a Dream, and the 1980 U.S. Olympic Hockey Team,” which sounds pretty good. You can guess what it’s about. But the Times sure seems to like it.
Meanwhile, Larry Brooks at the New York Post says the owners are getting tired of commissioner Gary Bettman.
I don’t know who they’d get to replace him at this point. I almost think it would need to be a former player, though, if there’s any hope of healing the gaping wound that is the NHL.
