You have to love the Senators sticking with Dom Hasek in goal. It was a risky move when they traded for him last summer, after he had an awful year in Detroit. But sticking with him after a season of inactivity? That’s raw faith, man. But to me, the craziest part was that they re-signed Hasek. He was only signed to a one-year deal ast season. They could have just started over but they actively chose to reboard the Hasek train.
At least Ottawa GM John Muckler admits it’s a risky move. And maybe in the new NHL, goaltending isn’t really that important.
