Friday’s Post had an interesting article suggesting Sports Illustrated is looking to return to TV via OLN (login info.).
I point this out only because as OLN currently has a pretty limited inventory of sports properties right now, an SI/OLN partnership would really force SI to ratchet up its hockey coverage.
It would also give OLN a higher profile, which would have to be good for hockey.
Also from the Post: Larry Brooks suggesting the Rangers sign Ilya Kovalchuk, a restricted free agent, to an offer sheet, forcing Atlanta to either match or let him go.
To me, it sounds like an idea right out of sports talk radio, but what do I know?
It is pretty interesting how the Rangers finally stayed out of the free agent pool, saving money and cap space for the future, and now all of the elite free agents are locked up.
By interesting, of course, I mean sadly funny.
