What I Learned This Weekend

This weekend I learned that a big part of the reason Anson Carter switches teams a few times a season is that every time he comes to a new city, he gets another article about his production company.
It’s actually quite brilliant.

Larry Brooks learned what happens to a team that’s over the cap on opening night. The NHL told him: “Team doesn’t play” (login info.). Devils GM Lou Lamoriello learned his team might have opening night off.
* * *
Islander goalie Rick DiPietro learned how a 15-year contract can make for awkward headlines when you don’t play very well.
* * *
Kings goalie Dan Cloutier learned the NHL’s allowing an increased curve on stick blades doesn’t really mean anything when so many players are already using illegal sticks (login info.).

We all learned a lot of people have been sent the script for EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH, starring Dane Cook.
