I saw the headline “Blackhawks Winter Classic a tough ticket” and I started to wonder who the NHL was going to screw out of tickets. But basically the Blackhawks are going to make sure their season ticket holders get first crack at the tickets. So let’s all of us take a deep breath.
By the way, Two-Line Pass was very impressed by Chicago’s win over Edmonton last night. Of course, new coach Joel Quenneville won behind goalie Nikolai Khabibulin, and the last Chicago coach to do that got fired.
This isn’t really related to the Blackhawks, but in Mike Heika’s weekly Q&A for the Dallas Morning News, someone asked when Sean Avery will adjust to the Stars system. I’ve written about this before, but as a courtesy to Stars fans, I’m going to repeat it: Avery isn’t a very good hockey player. He’s got some speed. He definitely has some grit. But that’s about it. He doesn’t have much of a hockey IQ. You’ll see a lot of bad penalties and silly giveaways. You’ll see a lot of shots on goal right into the midsection of the opposing goalie. You’ll see average defense. You’ll see some goals from right around the front of the net, but that’s really it. Do yourself a favor and lower your expectations now.
