Trade rumors are finally starting up again. The one thing I hate about the start of the NHL season is that there aren’t a lot of rumors as everyone pretty much stands pat to see what they’re dealing with:

• The Ducks, Canucks, and Rangers are all still interested in Mats Sundin. I don’t see how the Ducks or Rangers possibly have the cap space to afford Sundin. And isn’t he only interviewing because people stopped asking if he was coming back?
• Ilya Kovalchuk to Toronto? Everyone is denying it, but I love thinking about Kovalchuk playing on such a grand stage.
• This one isn’t really a trade, but Michael Russo looks ahead and wonders if Canadien Saku Koivu would want to come to Minnesota as a free agent to play with his brother, Mikko.
