Isles Love Starting a Backup

I really love the Islanders because their franchise goalie could be about to be shut-down for this season and they’re thinking Wade Dubielewicz, all the way.

This is a team that’s just so scared to dream. If the Islanders got three wishes, they’d probably wish for a cup of coffee, a pair of socks, and a pencil.

Nothing against Dubielewicz, of course. But the guy wound up playing in the KHL this season when he couldn’t get an NHL job offering as much money as Russia. Unless your name is a four-letter word for gold-flecked shot, that’s not always a great sign.

The crazy thing is, Dubielewicz was recently bought out of his KHL contract (kontract?) and a few NHL teams are supposedly interested in him.

Dubielewicz was solid for the Isles last season, though. And the Islanders are getting desperate. “Starter” Joey MacDonald tweaked his groin last night against the Rangers and needs to have it examined.

Also, six goals for the Wild: their goal total for the week? Nope. What they put up in one game against the Coyotes last night.

I didn’t know the Xcel Energy Center scoreboard had anything higher than a four.
