Crazy Scoring for Sabres and Wild

There were quite a few signs of the apocalypse last night.

The Wild scored six goals against the Leafs, including a four-goal second period. That huge second was caused by Minnesota’s Pierre-Marc Bouchard, who spent the first in coach Jacques Lemaire’s dog house. But to be fair, if you’re not in Lemaire’s dog house, you’re probably not a member of the Wild.

And now that I think about it, helping the Wild score that many goals in one game might actually put you in Lemaire’s dog house.

Over in Edmonton, the Sabres destroyed the Oilers 10-2, with Buffalo scoring 10 seconds into the game, eventually chasing goalie Dwayne Roloson.

Buffalo’s Drew Stafford had a hat-trick, which was a bit awkward given that his uncle is Edmonton’s longtime equipment manager.

Also shocking, Tampa beat the Habs last night. Those Montreal fans thought they were so smart voting their team into the All-Star game, didn’t they? I guess no one thought about how the entire team would now go through the rest of the season without any kind of extended rest.

Sacre bleu!
